Hi,
mikutter 0.3 or later already supports English locale by ruby-gettext.
Could you show your mikutter version and LANG variables?
mikutter assumes LANG=ja_JP.UTF8 by default.
I think that with LANG=en_US.UTF8 or LANG=en_GB.UTF8, mikutter launches English locale.
And this issue is already reported in debian project https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=731032.
